Tradies donation will forward the fight against cancer

Australian Youth Against Cancer, an organisation dedicated to raising funds for lifesaving cancer treatment on behalf of young adults fighting the disease, will receive a $300 donation from Tradies as part of the club's 'Tradies Tribe Give Back Program'.

The program provides Tradies team members the opportunity to give back to comunity organisations about which they feel passionate and three Tradies taem members selected Australian Youth Against Cancer due to its significant contribution to cancer research and treatment.

Chris Boyd, Director and Founder of Australian Youth Against Cancer, says that the donation will go towards funding a world-class cancer research institution in Sydney.

"They money generously donated to us from Tradies will be put towards our ongoing fundraising campaign for The Chris O'Brien Lifehouse at RPA - the most significant development in cancer treatment in Australia's history," said Chris.

"On behalf of everyone involved with AYAC, I would like to sincerely thank Tradies for contributing to our cause," he continued.

"AYAC is well supported by businesses and community groups within the Shire and we're confident that this is a sign of further great things to come. Thank you," he added.

This contribution forms part of the $16,500 which has been donated by Tradies through their Give Back program, with other selected organisations including Lifeline, the Sutherland Shire Animal Shelter and the Enough is Enough Anti Violence Movement.

"Tradies is dedicated to giving back to the community who support us and each year we donate thousands of dollars and hundreds of volunteer hours through our various initiatives," said Tim McAleer, Chief Executive Officer of Tradies.

"This program is but another opportunity for Tradies to show its support of local causes about which our team members feel strongly," he added.
